Scaffolds can provide people with an efficient and safe way to carry out their work. They also have many applications. Scaffolds are used in construction, modification, routine maintenance, and renovation. When properly assembled and maintained, scaffolding allows workers to safely access work areas, provides stable and level work platforms, and offers temporary storage for tools and materials.

However, unsafe scaffolding procedures can cause accidents, serious injuries, and even death. Accidents involving scaffolds are mainly due to worker falls, incorrect operating procedures, environmental conditions, and falling materials.

This course covers general scaffolding requirements, the basic components of scaffolds, and the different types of scaffolding. It will show employees that planning the assembly, use, and disassembly of scaffolds can reduce the risk of accidents and injuries. We will also discuss precautions to prevent these serious accidents and protect workers from fall-related injuries and fatalities.
